D'Days, true to its mission

D'Days has prepared the 17th edition of the Festival of Design Paris, staying true to its raison d'être: to promote the discipline of design and creation and its actors through a communal dynamic and energy.

The profession's actors (designers, distributors, schools, museums, institutions, foundations, enterprises, galleries...) come together to celebrate the discipline by proposing never seen before exhibitions, workshops and meetings...

Presented by the D'Days Association, each year the Festival presents a selection of projects that showcase the vitality and diversity of creation in the design of products, space and sounds.

Constructed around iconic venues of creation and set to the rhythm of programme highlights, this year the Festival has been extended to 12 days of free events open to everyone.

D'Days invites you to join the game - Let's Play!

To play is to give yourself liberty, it is to voluntarily remove yourself from the ‘real', it is to put constraints into question and to imagine an evolving world.

The theme of this year ‘Let's Play', deliberately imbued with a sense of fun in this highly political time, underscores the capacity of design to reinvent the rules, to shuffle the cards, to create new uses and our way of being in the world.

The rules of the game evolve - today they are participative, collaborative and involve multiple actors - from the inventors to the user - in a fertile chain of solidarity.

12 DAYS CELEBRATING DESIGN: 2–14 MAY 2017, LET’S PLAY WITH D’DAYS! 

THIS YEAR, FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE FESTIVAL OF DESIGN WILL BE HELD OVER TWO WEEKS IN PARIS – FOCUSED ON THE THEME ‘GAMES’ 

With new places, new people and a bigger audience, the 2017 edition of the Festival of Design will also be longer: for the first time D’Days will be held over two weeks in Paris, from 2-14 May 2017

D’DAYS INVITES YOU TO TAKE YOUR TURN

Playing promises the possibility to escape from reality. It’s a space of liberty and appropriation where sharing experiences with others creates meaning and joy.

Design has the capacity to develop the fun side of daily actions and uses, because it re-invents the rules. These days design is participative, collaborative and includes multiple actors – from conception to use – joined in a chain of solidarity. As the Festival theme, you are cordially invited to come and play with objects, spaces and sounds!
