SOL LEWITT

Centre Pompidou - Metz

The Centre Pompidou-Metz presents a retrospective, unprecented in Europe, of the American conceptual artist Sol LeWitt (1928-2007).

The exhibition brings together around thirty wall drawings in black and white only, chosen from among the 1,200 wall works conceived by the artist between 1968 and 2007. Defined with precision in the form of instructions and diagrams, the wall drawings are to be directly painted onto the walls. Their creation at the Centre Pompidou-Metz offers the chance for an exceptional educational experience, introducing young artists and students to  the trained draftspeople from the LeWitt Estate .
