At closing time on Sunday October 27th, FIAC had recorded 73 543 admissions in 5 days, representing a 4.1% increase from the previous edition.
French and foreign collectors, institutions and professionals attended the FIAC inauguration day in particularly high numbers. 17 286 admissions were recorded on Wednesday October 23rd at the Grand Palais, representing an increase of 12.6 % with respect to 2012.

GALLERY OWNERS WERE UNANIMOUSLY ENTHUSIASTIC!
All of the gallery owners unanimously expressed their enthusiasm for this 2013 edition.
The best FIAC ever for many of them, a very strong presence from international collectors and some very good sales, both at the Grand Palais and on the Hors les Murs sites, as well as in their galleries, for those with premises in Paris.

HORS LES MURS – WHEN FIAC RADIATES INTO THE CITY OF LIGHT...
Acclaimed for its high quality and artistic level, the Hors les Murs programme - freely accessible - invigorates Paris, encouraging the city to follow the beat of FIAC’s drum and allowing all audiences to familiarise themselves with contemporary art.

In association with the Musée du Louvre, FIAC offered an exceptional programme in the heart of the Tuileries Garden. FIAC also presented around twenty works in the Jardin des Plantes and locations at the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle. For the second consecutive year, the Place Vendôme exhibited works as part of the Hors les Murs programme. This year, Tadashi Kawamata accepted the invitation. With Tree Huts the Place Vendôme was transformed by Kawamata’s touch, the artist’s world was presented to visitors. As for the left Banks of the Seine, for the first time, this site was integrated within the Hors les Murs programme by presenting an open-air artistic pathway. In front of the Petit Palais, the installation Welcome Parade by Jean Dubuffet was presented.

PERFORMANCE AT THE HEART OF THE ARTISTIC PROJECT OF FIAC 2013
Since 2008, the performance programme Ouvertures / Openings has been devised and presented in association with the Auditorium du Louvre. Bringing together exceptional artists and performers, the 2013 edition showcased heightened experiences in music and sound, with performances by Tarek Atoui, Alvin Lucier, Olaf Nicolai and Xavier Le Roy.

For its 40th edition, FIAC collaborated with Mehdi Brit to design an exceptional programme entitled “In Process”, a cycle of performances dedicated to the young contemporary scene. For six days, between the Grand Palais and the sites associated with the Hors les Murs programme, performances and other hybrid actions were presented to the general public.

FIAC: MAINSPRING OF ARTISTIC EFFERVESCENCE IN PARIS
The wide range of artistic and cultural choices available in Paris during FIAC week was acclaimed by all of the participants from the art world, both French and international, and particularly the collectors.
