NEW FONDATION TOTAL

Total has decided to bring all of its charitable activites together at the heart of one expanded corporate foundation :

-Environment, in particular marine life and bio-diversity
-Culture and Heritage
-Solidarity in the health and education sectors

In doing so, Total becomes the leading Foundation in France with an annual donation budget of 10 million euros. In 1992, following the Earth Summit in Rio, Total decided to dedicate a corporate foundation to the environment. In the course of the years, its patronage has developed within the Group and its engagements have multiplied. The idea of a regrouping gradually established itself.
The consolidation of all its charitable patronage within this new Foundation aims to reinforce the coherence of the group’s activites, to develop synergy and to improve readability and influence.
Whether through its support for the creation of the Islamic Art department at the Louvre, pastoral care for young people in underprivileged areas, or working towards the prevention of AIDS in Moroccan truck drivers, the Foundation expresses the overarching vision of its directors and colleagues : the values of a responsible business. Beyond the financial support, the Foundation intends to establish lasting connections between different cultures, between specialists and society at large, and between the corporation and all those involved with it…
For the Total Foundation, interacting with the environment is a given. « Protect and Preserve » , « Converse and Convey », « Research and Innovate », will be the three crucial axes for action.
