SLIP OF THE TONGUE

“Slip of the Tongue”, a unique project conceived by Danh Vo in collaboration with Caroline Bourgeois, will open at Punta della Dogana. For the first time an artist is invited to take the Pinault Collection as a starting point for a reflection on its pieces of art and for conceiving a new exhibition.

In his work, Danh Vo, an artist born in Vietnam in 1975 and who, aged 4, fled to Denmark with his family, often revisits History in the light of his own personal history. Designed specifically for Punta della Dogana, the exhibition follows a path that suggests a dialogue between his own works and a selection of works from the Pinault Collection. This will be completed by other ancient or contemporary pieces.

MARTIAL RAYSSE

From April 12th, 2015, to December 31st, 2015, Palazzo Grassi will host a monographic exhibition of Martial Raysse.

This major show dedicated to Raysse, one of the most important living French painters and winner of the 2014 Praemium Imperiale, will take over the atrium and both floors of Palazzo Grassi. It will be the first monographic exhibition dedicated to the artist outside of France since 1965 and will be the perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover France’s hidden master and to explore the dedication and proximity between a collector and an artist.

Curated by Caroline Bourgeois in close collaboration with the artist, the exhibition will bring together more than 300 works from 1958 to the present day - paintings, sculptures, videos and neon works - almost half of which have never been shown to the public (some are in work in progress to be displayed for the first time at Palazzo Grassi). The course of the exhibition, which is non-chonological, will offer a new point of view on the work of Martial Raysse by underlining, on the one hand, the multifaceted nature of his artistic production, and, on the other hand, the continuous dialogue and echo he has established among his works throughout his sixty years of career.

EXPERIENCE POMMERY #11

The Experience Pommery #11 celebrates the 30th anniversary of the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne. The organisation of the exhibition has been entrusted to Florence Derieux, its director since 2008. She worked in collaboration with Matali Crasset, a designer and the President of the FRAC since 2012, who designed the entire scenography free of charge. Une Odyssée : les 30 ans du FRAC Champagne-Ardenne is based, on the one hand, on the presentation of 30 masterpieces from its extraordinary collection in previously unseen areas of the Pommery Estate. On the other, it is a spectacular tour of works in the magnificent and mysterious cellars laid out by Madame Pommery at the end of the 19th century using the ancient Gallo-Roman chalk quarries. In addition to this is the chance to rediscover a monumental work by the famous American artist Chris Burden, which has been restored thanks to the generosity of the Vranken-Pommery Group.
