MARSEILLE-PROVENCE 2013 : CUISINES EN FRICHE

MARSEILLE - FRICHE LA BELLE DE MAI

This first edition of the Festival "Cuisines en Friche" is bringing together chefs, artists and philosophers; the Cuisines en Friche festival will be a festive culinary exploration examining the relationship we have with our food.

All art forms are welcome in this great conversation on food: performance, theatre, music, film and literature. Cuisines en Friche opens the doors to creation and innovation, attracting artists who are looking for a space for investigation, sources of inspiration or a place to explore issues. It is a place where creative cuisine and artistic creation have room to mix and mingle.

Off to the market A farmer’s market will unfold all around the Friche la Belle de Mai. It will be overflowing with fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, cheese and dairy products, forgotten herbs, wine-growers, spices, honey, fruit juices, bread and cereals and local artisans. Developed in partnership with local producers, the market reflects the diversity and quality of the region. Sample the tasty products as you do your shopping and enjoy the demonstrations and activities as you wander around. The Carrioles, or food carts, in La Friche will serve up street food made from the fresh market produce.

Conferences, chef demonstrations, workshops and more All week long, visitors can check out Omnivore Méditerranée, conferences on today’s food habits, a cookbook festival and workshops.
