LIVING IN CAMPS THE NOMADS, THE TRAVELLERS, THE ILL-FATED, THE EXILES, THE CONQUERORS, THE PROTESTERS

CITE DE L'ARCHITECTURE & DU PATRIMOINE / PARIS

The exhibition Living in camps offers a reflection on the notions of housing and camps and the inherent tension between the two concepts, caused by the fact that camps respond to needs and designs that are different to the desire to live within and appropriate territory. By defining six categories of camp inhabitants and illustrating each of them through approximately forty concrete and current situations, the exhibition strives to offer an unedited view of a rarely observed current issue, seen through the lens of architecture.
