THROUGH THE EYES OF YVON LAMBERT 20 YEARS LATER…

COLLECTION LAMBERT IN AVIGNON

20 years after installing his collection in Avignon, Yvon Lambert intiates a new dialog with his favourite artists and the rooms that house their works. On this occasion, the art collector has chosen 13 artists, each of which gets their own room in the Hôtel de Caumont; the historic building that was re-opened on the 27 June 2000 as the site for what would be a totally original museum project for the French art scene. Dedicating these spaces for each artist is an ideal way to display the wealth of the collection housed in the papal city and, with each room, invite the public to enter into the universe of a major artist from the collection. This new personal involvement from the collector himself will be the first of a series of annual shows organised presenting his personal vision.

The artists, in order of their appearance in the museum rooms:
Sol LeWitt, Donald Judd, Robert Barry, Christian Boltansk, Richard Tuttle, Cy Twombly, Claude Lévêque, Daniel Buren, Andres Serrano, Anselm Kiefer, Miquel Barceló, David Horwitz, Robert Combas, Jean-Charles Blais, Niele Toroni, Robert Ryman.
