ENRIQUE RAMÍREZ - RÉSIDENCE D’ARTISTES DE PINAULT COLLECTION À LENS

LENS

From September 2020 to June 2021, the Pinault Collection welcomes Enrique Ramírez as their artist-in-residence at Lens. He is the seventh artist invited by the Pinault Collection as part of their programme, following American artists Melissa Dubbin and Aaron S. Davidson (2016), Belgian artist Edith Dekyndt (2017), Brazilian artist Lucas Arruda (2017/2018), and Franco-Moroccan artist Hicham Berrada (2018/2019). French artist Bertille Bak has just completed her residency after a very fertile year of creation, and her work will feature in the upcoming exhibition at the Fondazione Merz in Turin.

Inaugurated in 2015 in the former mining city, the residency programme welcomes artists in a specially dedicated building. The residency selection committee comprises representatives of the Louvre-Lens, Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains, the FRAC Grand Large - Hautsde-France de Dunkerque, the LAM (Lille Métropole Musée d’art moderne de Villeneuve d’Ascq), and the Pinault Collection.

The residency programme is yet another way for the Pinault Collection to demonstrate its commitment to contemporary creation, also apparent in the constitution of its Collection, the organization of numerous exhibitions at the Palazzo Grassi and the Punta della Dogana (Venice), through its offsite programme and the soon-to-be-opened Parisian venue, the Bourse de Commerce.
