For his first museum exhibition in Europe, Hong Kong artist Trevor Yeung has been invited to take over the nave of the CAPC to unfold his magical and mysterious universe. The works will transform the monumental architecture of the former colonial goods warehouse into a virtual space, where an artificial landscape unfolds, like a large-scale vivarium. It features lakes, mutant suns, and luminous mushrooms.
In his work, Trevor Yeung uses botanical ecology, horticulture, and aquarium systems as metaphorical devices to express the emancipation of desires in the realm of human relationships. Born in China in 1988, Trevor Yeung lives and works in Hong Kong. In 2024, he represented Hong Kong in an event at the 60th Venice Biennale. He recently presented solo exhibitions at M+ in Hong Kong and at the Kestner Gesellschaft in Hanover.
