Every year, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux (Musba) enriches its collection with works (paintings, sculptures, graphic arts) acquired either for a fee (purchased at public auction, in galleries, or from private individuals) or free of charge (donations, including those from the Société des Amis du Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, created after the war, and bequests).
In recent years, this acquisition policy has focused primarily on 18th- to 20th-century art from Bordeaux and 19th-century French art, which are the museum's strongest areas.
This exhibition is therefore an opportunity to look back on 10 years of acquisitions through the presentation of a selection of particularly significant works that are representative of the diversity of the mediums represented.
