The Musée Marmottan Monet and the Musée de Grenoble are together presenting a remarkable exhibition devoted to the art of the landscape, from 1890 to the present day. Entitled "The History of Landscape (1890-2026)", it will be held in Paris from 24 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, and then in Grenoble from 5 March to 4 July 2027.
Curated by Pierre Wat, professor at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and director of the HiCSA Research Centre, the exhibition traces the evolution of landscape art from the 19th century to its contemporary reinterpretations. As part of the commemorations marking the centenary of Monet’s death, the event will draw parallels between the master’s work and that of 20th- and 21st-century artists.
