POUSSIN AND MOÏSE: FROM DRAWING TO TAPESTRY

Fine Arts Museum, Bordeaux, France

Exhibition organized with The Mobilier national, Paris, and the Villa Médicis, Rome In 1683, the royal workshops were undertaking a new tapestry of the story of Moses from eight paintings by Nicolas Poussin, then regarded as the greatest French painter, and two of Le Brun, First Painter to the King. Thanks to the generous loan of the Mobilier National, Museum of Fine Arts of Bordeaux will present the whole tapestry.
