HENRI MATISSE, LA SYMPHONIE DES COULEURS & FRIDA KHALO, EN PLEIN COEUR

BASSINS DES LUMIÈRES - BORDEAUX

HENRI MATISSE, LA SYMPHONIE DES COULEURS (Long program)

Henri Matisse, master of light and traveling painter, is an iconic figure of Fauvism whose artistic audacity pushed the boundaries of 20th-century art.

This immersive retrospective reveals a world where colors interact with shapes, evolving toward a formal purity through Matisse's stylistic explorations of materials and various techniques.

Each work becomes an invitation to feel the fluidity of movement, the power of pure emotion, and the relentless quest for a chromatic balance imbued with harmony and serenity. Visitors will be able to appreciate Matisse's incredible capacity for innovation, which pushed the boundaries of academic painting to better capture the vibrant essence of reality.

FRIDA KHALO, EN PLEIN COEUR (Short program)

The exhibition offers a physical experience of the dense and colorful artistic universe of Frida Kahlo (1907-1954). It highlights her deep connection to Mexican culture and folklore, her personal experiences, and the emotions that nourished her art throughout her life.

Through an aesthetic that emphasizes the vegetal, the organic, and anatomy in her works, the motifs will extend into the space to envelop the visitor, weaving a permanent aesthetic link throughout the exhibition. Visitors will be able to experience the artist's powerful themes: her cultural identity, her painful suffering, and her struggle to find meaning in her life.
